A modern approach to

Psychotherapy

In a world filled with constant challenges and uncertainties, it’s no surprise that many of us struggle with our mental health at some point in our lives. From the overwhelming grip of anxiety to the suffocating weight of depression, these emotional battles can be daunting, but you don't have to face it alone.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) helps clients process and heal from distressing or traumatic experiences. EMDR works with the brain’s natural ability to process memories, helping you reduce the emotional intensity of difficult events.

In our sessions, we will work at a pace that feels safe for you. You can expect a supportive and structured process where we gently explore and reprocess challenging memories, while also focusing on building coping skills and resilience. The goal is to help you feel more in control, release what has been holding you back, and move towards positive, lasting change.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations, and actions are interconnected. It’s a practical approach that supports breaking unhelpful cycles where negative thoughts lead to distressing emotions and impact your behaviour and relationships. In sessions, we may explore past experiences to uncover beliefs and patterns that contribute to current difficulties. CBT is structured, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. It aims to increase self-awareness, reduce emotional distress, and support meaningful change, helping you feel more confident, resilient, and in control of your life.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in 3rd wave CBT and takes a holistic view of wellbeing, addressing both the mind and body. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based techniques, including Humanistic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Compassion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Affirmative Therapy (AT), Schema Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My aim is to support your overall wellbeing, helping you move towards a happier, healthier, and more empowered version of yourself.

Sex therapy focuses on your sexual wellbeing, providing a safe, compassionate space to explore any difficulties or concerns affecting your intimacy or sexual relationships. Together, we look at the emotional, psychological, relational, and physical factors that may be contributing to what you’re experiencing. The goal is to reduce shame, build confidence, and support you in developing a healthier, more fulfilling relationship with your sexuality and intimacy.

Couples therapy offers a supportive space for partners to explore and understand the dynamics within their relationship. We work together to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen emotional connection. By understanding patterns, building empathy, and learning practical skills, couples can develop healthier ways of relating and create a stronger, more satisfying partnership.

Humanistic Therapy

HT emphasizes the individual's inherent capacity for growth, self-actualization, and personal fulfillment and places a strong emphasis on the client's subjective experience, self-awareness, and personal responsibility.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy

DBT focuses on helping individuals manage intense emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and reduce self-destructive behaviours. DBT combines cognitive-behavioural techniques with concepts from mindfulness. It aims to teach skills in four key areas: mindfulness , distress tolerance, emotion regulation , and interpersonal effectiveness.

Internal Family systems

IFS sees the mind as made up of different “parts” each with its own emotions, needs, and roles. Instead of treating these inner experiences as problems, the approach recognises them as protective responses shaped by your history and environment.

By developing a respectful connection with each part, you can understand why it shows up the way it does and support it to soften, heal, and work collaboratively rather than in conflict.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

MBCT integrates principles of mindfulness meditation and practices into the therapeutic process to promote psychological well-being and alleviate various mental health difficulties. Empowering clients to cultivate greater awareness, acceptance, and resilience in their lives

Compassionate-Focused Therapy

CFT focuses on cultivating compassion for oneself and others as a means of addressing psychological difficulties, particularly those related to shame, self-criticism, and low self-esteem.

Schema Therapy

ST identifies, understands, and addresses longstanding patterns of maladaptive thinking, feeling, and behaviour known as schemas. These schemas, or core beliefs, develop in childhood as a result of early experiences and shape how individuals perceive themselves, others, and the world around them

Narrative therapy

NT is a collaborative approach that helps you explore the stories you tell about yourself and your life. Often, the way we understand our experiences can shape how we feel, act, and relate to others. In therapy, we work together to separate you from the problems you’re facing, uncover new perspectives, and identify strengths that may have been overlooked. The goal is to help you rewrite your story in a way that feels empowering, authentic, and aligned with the life you want to live.

Affirmative therapy

Affirmative Therapy is a supportive approach that focuses on validating and affirming your identity. It provides a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences, relationships, and challenges while feeling fully accepted for who you are.The goal of Affirmative Therapy is to help you feel seen, understood, and empowered, while supporting your emotional wellbeing and personal growth in a way that honours your authentic self.

Acceptance Commitment therapy

ACT is a form of therapy that helps you live a meaningful and values-driven life, even when you’re experiencing difficult thoughts, feelings, or sensations. Instead of trying to eliminate uncomfortable emotions, ACT teaches you to accept them and make space for them, while focusing on the actions and values that matter most to you.

Testimonials

As I suffer from agoraphobia and anxiety, the focus was on helping me to overcome unhelpful preconceptions about going outside and being alone. I was shown numerous relaxation techniques, and methods to rethink and approach anxiety symptoms rationally. All of these were extremely helpful, and I was able to begin overcoming some major fears of mine. My therapist, Ester, was kind, understanding, and professional for the entire period. I am very happy with the help she gave me.

Ester's compassionate and insightful approach allowed me to unravel the complexities within me, providing practical coping strategies and a deeper understanding of my feelings. Today, looking back at where I started, I've come a long way, and I credit much of my progress to Ester. The techniques she shared continue to be invaluable tools in my everyday life. Ester’s support and expertise have been instrumental in my journey towards lasting positive change, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a dedicated and insightful therapist.
